I'm confused! Yesterday evening my chicks were healthy and rambunctious and this morning 3 of 4 were cold and catatonic. Since then one has died, one is unchanged, and one is starting to make little chirring noises.
Because they were all cold to the touch, I immediately tucked them (fearfully...
I don't know if I'm ready for this,
but go ahead and tell me what you think. Rhode Island Reds or Production?
If they're production, it'll be the second time I've gone down this road since March.
I'd like to remedy the problem sooner rather than later!
Thanks, you wonderful BYCers!
I refuse to give up on getting RIR hens for my flock!
I picked up these sweeties a few weeks (I think) ago. At first I thought I had one rooster, then I thought two, and now I'm thinking three. What do YOU think?

I can't rake my whole back yard! I can't...
The Ameraucana cheeks are there, but the legs are yellow. About 12 weeks old. It liked to box with another pullet that turned out to be a roo.
I hope the pictures came through.
George, the chicken previously known as Ginger, is way more colorful and shiny than my year-old RIR layers. I'm trying to sell him but am wanting to be truthful about his breed.
See photo. Okay, so I can't figure out how to upload my photo.
He's a brilliant, super-shiny-bright orange...
I'm so glad I've found people who understand me! My friends think I've gone chicken-crazy in six short weeks, but who wouldn't?
Friendly, happy, feathered gals who love to give you eggs in return for chicken feed?! What a great bunch of critters!
I want you to know that some of your posts...
