    Please help! Chick with issues

I've posted this in another thread if you've already seen it please disregard. I have a little chick about 2 weeks old. Part of a staggered hatch. I believe one of the other chicks may have jumped on it. Anyways, it's got a slipped tendon that we've been caring for and trying to heal for a few...

Please help me figure out what's wrong with my chick.

[VIDEO] have a little chick about 2 weeks old. Part of a staggered hatch. I believe one of the other chicks may have jumped on it. Anyways, it's got a slipped tendon that we've been caring for and trying to heal for a few days, but it's making a strange motion with its neck. I can't tell if this...

    is this slipped tendon?

so I found one of my my little week old chicks in the brooder yesterday struggling to walk. Really not using its legs at all. I put shoes on and nothing. I put band aids in thinking straddled and that didn't work. So I'm looking at the legs wondering if it's a slipped tendon. But I'm not 100%...

    Candling help

I was starting to lock down my incubator for the last of my staggered hatch. All my shipped salmon faverolles eggs do not look as expected. They do have veining and I do see a movement but I've never seen the up/down look of the contents. Does anybody know what this means or if it's normal...

    Hatching Issues

i know everyone says never to assist in a hatch. And I probably never will..again. This morning I got up and one of my eggs that was 2 days past due pipped the wrong end. After several hours of no progress I decided to help. I see a lot of bloody membrane. The chick is breathing but doesn't seem...

Hatching Some Eggs in Incubator and some under Broody at same time.

Hi! So I'm looking for some advice from some experience hatchers. I've never hatched under a broody, but my CCL went broody in a serious way. I finally relented and gave her 4 eggs. I didn't think the eggs were fertile, because I thought my sweet Beleifelder roo was too much of a gentleman. So...

ive read all the great posts about normal vs abnormal poop, but I just can't decide. So I was moving my chicks to their coop today (thank goodness!) and I noticed one had unusual poop. I noticed the last few days I thought this certain chick had lighter poop. She seems healthy and is on...

    Bedding on top of EcoBrooder

Hi! I know I've read lots of people saying they cover their Brinsea EcoBrooder with shelf liner, which I did also. But I'm wondering if anyone ever puts bedding on top of it. I lay down paper towels because they poop all over it. I change the paper towels multiple times a day because I hate for...

Is Brinsea Brooder enough heat or do I need something more?

Hi! I'm starting my adventure in raising chicks later this week, when my chicks hatch (hopefully) and also have a few being shipped (just in case). I have purchased the Brinsea EcoGlow 50 but I'm a little nervous. I keep reading that especially the first few days the brooder area needs to be 98...

    Warm water for chicks?

I'm hatching chicks and expecting a few to arrive in the mail this week(first time chick raiser:). I read that baby chicks need warm water. Do I have to have some way to keep it warm at all times or just change it several times a day to keep it warmer. I'm not sure how to go about keeping it...
