I have a hen, a black australorp, around five years old, who walks like a penguin.
I've picked her up and felt around, but I can't find anything that could indicate a problem, and she's never gotten sick before.
There isn't any enlargement in her abdomen, it's a healthy size, not hot to the...
I have a hen, an ameraucana/rhode island mix, around three years old, and I noticed the other day that she was walking kinda funny, all stiff and scrunched up, so I felt around and her abdomen is swollen.
She doesn't lay anymore, so I don't think it's a lodged egg.
Could it be that she's...
Alright.
So I have an Ameraucana hen, about three years old.
She does have some scaly mite damage that I noticed and was going to treat, but then I noticed something else.
She seems to have a (broken?) infected toe, and I don't know what to do about it.
She's limping, and I need to kill the...
One of my Rhode Island hens started acting weird a few days ago and I have no idea why!
She's a five year old, maybe six-seven pound hen, and she just suddenly started being plain weird.
Her head sways quite a bit when she looks around, and currently, she can't walk.
If she tries to stand, she...
I have an Australorp hen, about a year and a half old, with a bubble (about the size of a nickel, but slightly less wider than the length of a dime) of liquid in her wattle. I gently poked and felt it to see if I could figure it out on my own, but it appears to contain liquid, and I want to know...
Alright, so my sister noticed a hen walking abnormally. Pretty slow and sick-ish looking. She also seems to be missing her tail, under which a medium sized swollen lump has appeared on the top of the vent. It's not solid and can be squished, but I didn't want to poke around and harm her, and...
Can anyone tell me what this is? This poor hen is suffering from yellow black scabbed wounds on her face and appears to be having a bit of trouble breathing correctly due to a sort of mucus in her mouth. I have provided pictures, ones I admit are blurry, but she wouldn't hold still.
So I have a hen that has frothy bubbles in and around her eyes, and one of her eyes looks slightly too far back, and I know she gets picked on a little, but I'm starting to get worried.
The bubbles get so bad they completely cover her eyes and I have to gently wipe her eyes with a warm wash...
So I have, or should say had, twenty 7 month old hens.
Recently, I noticed they weren't acting right.
It's been almost a week since I've noticed this, and I've lost almost half of the hens, and what I thought was roundworms doesn't seem right.
They have had every symptom of roundworms: Weight...
