    Coops predator proof

Is there a way to make chicken coops predator proof, or are they already? I remember someone told me to add extra chicken wire/fencing around the metal wire fencing installed to the coop? (I can add pictures if you need them).

    Tractor supply bantams

Hello, It seems that I have 6 silkie bantams chicks. I got them from TSC. They said they're "assorted bantams". Are silkies considered bantams? If so, what makes them different than "regular chickens"? Are they able to fly a little like other chickens? Thanks, ant888

    Transporting baby chicks

Hi, I need to transport 2 week old chicks for 25 minutes and 25 minutes back. Would it be bad to do it? There will be a few hours between the trips. They will have the lamp after the first 25 minutes. Will this be okay for them? There are 6 chicks.

    Pine shavings bedding soaked

My brooder has pine shavings in it. I went to check on the chicks, and they're fine, but some of the bedding is soaked. I don't know if it's from the waterer, but it's such a mess. Did this ever happen to anyone? Is it bad?

    Building an "artifical" nest

I was thinking about making a nest in the brooder. I have seen some posts on here with an area of the brooder with a nest made out of old towels. Will this hurt my chicks?

    Taking chicks outside

Now, I know that you're supposed to keep 1 or 2 week chicks in the brooder, but what if it's 60s to 70s degrees? Will it hurt to do it for a few minutes? I won't do it until I find out first. I will also post pictures of my chicks, and see if anyone knows their age. I got them from the feed store.
