    Help protecting MANY ducklings!

I rescued 25 Muscovies and Rouens last year. This spring there are many nests. 2 nests hatched 4 and 8. Those have all disappeared one by one. The moms were not great and didn’t watch them closely. Those were Rouen moms. Now 3 Muscovies have hatched batches of 4, 11, and 14. My dilemma is.... do...

Help with 31 rescued Muscovy ducks

I have many other types of animals but these are my first ducks. The owner died suddenly of a heart attack and friends found homes for his animals. I got 30 ducks and one goose. Most are Muscovy, two Pekin, two Roen. The friends think they were laying eggs at the man's farm. I have had them now...

    I've rescued 32 ducks. Feed???

A friend of a friend passed away and all of his animals had to be re-homed. I took 32 ducks and 9 babies. One large white goose. I have 40 acres with a .6 acre pond. They love swimming in the pond. I contacted my coop and got 500 pounds of a flock raiser mixed with corn. I feed them twice a day...

Two BFF roosters are now fighting.

I waited both times until there was blood dripping and heavy panting. It did not appear that one was winning. I have one large coop 12 x 20...

What just came out of my hen? Photos are graphic.

Yesterday I went to gather and found an egg and this other thing in the box. It was tough and fibrous with something resembling an umbilical cord hanging from it. Inside was yolk but also thick on one end of tissue. None of the hens appear to be having any trouble. What is this????

What the heck came out of my chicken? Photos too

I have never seen this before. I hope it is normal in some way. Every hen seems fine. It had thick tissue around some yolk and a tough fibrous piece like an umbilical cord.

    Another poop picture. New flock

I have read through PAGES of posts about poop so I can make some assumptions. But, I am wondering how much stool changes can just be stress? I drove about 2 1/2 hours to pick up 2 roosters and 2 hens from a friend who hatched them for me last spring. I was going to get 4 hens but a critter got...

New flock from two different sources. Still need to separate?

I have converted a corner of a Wick building into a coop measuring 12 x 20. I have roosts and nesting boxes in. Sand over the existing asphalt flooring. Hardware wire over some areas for ventilation. There is one pop door to the run. It is actually a fenced area of about 1/2 acre with grass and...
