Hi, we're looking for white Japanese bantams and standard buff Cochins. We're not locked on those colors but they're our 1st choice. We'd like 2-3 pullets and 1 rooster of each. We're located in Wrightsville, Ga. Thanks

I have 21 seven week old Black Australorps for sale. I also have 1 australorp/white wyandotte cross chick for sale. I'm asking $4 each for the pullets and $3 each for the cockerels. If you'll buy them all(it's close to a 50/50 split males to females), we'll negotiate a better price.
I also...
I had to help a chick hatch yesterday. To say everything had dried out would be an understatement. He was a glue ball.
My wife spent about an hour with a tootbrush and warm water cleaning it up. It helped a lot but the
little fellow's fuzz is still matted up.
Does anyone know what I can do...
My son and I are about to start a small coop/run for 3-4 standard Cochins. We intend to build the coop and fenced in run area with a continous roof,
so except for those days when the weather is extremely windy and rainy they should be able to venture outside.
I was wondering(I 've read the 4sf...
I've found a mini fridge that I'd like to convert into an incubator. However, due to the shape(indentation at bottom where compressor was) of the inside of the fridge,
I don't think I could put a false back in it to circulate the air as the store bought models do.
My question is this: Is the...
Hi, I hope it's ok to post these here. I had too many eggs for the incubator and I don't want to throw these out. I have 12 or 13 Dominique eggs and 10 Australorp eggs with a possibilty of the Aussies being crossed with White Wyandottes. The eggs are about a week old so they'd need to be...
I'm trying to build a two shelf incubator and already have one Hovabator turner. I can only find an LG turner locally and was hoping there sizes were the same or close. If you know please post here.
Thanks
I incubated for the 1st time last month and about 4 days into the process I purchased the Brinsea spot check. At 1st it seemed to be working perfect. Then around day 10 I candled the eggs and upon putting it back in the bator it was reading 4 degrees(104.5) higher than the previous 5+ days. I...
I've just finished my 1st hatch in my homemade incubator and had great success. However I have a problem with keeping the humidity in check.
My heat source and fan are located on top, and I have an automatic egg turner about 2 1/2 inches off the floor. The 2 1/2 inches leaves me enough room...
I'm going thru my 1st hatch and I had a question for anyone that might know. My 1st chick hatched at around 7:15 last night and the last one hatched around 5:00 this afternoon. I still have 2 eggs left of 24 that have yet to hatch or pip and I was wondering how long I should wait until calling...
I'm in my 1st round of incubating and have a question about lockdown. This Sunday will be day 21 so lockdown should begin on Friday. However, I had low temps during the process(about a degree low for the 1st five days, and I had a thermometer issue around day 9 and my temp stayed around 93 for...
Well....I set my eggs on Monday morning and thought I was in good shape:) temp wise until my thermometers all starting showing different readings:(. So I ordered a Brinsea Spot Check thermometer that arrived today and I found I was/had been running about 0.75-1 degree lower than the required...
I would like to buy 8-12 black Cochin eggs for the incubator. It doesn't matter if they're from hatchery stock, just as long as they are standard size and not bantams. If you can help please pm me.
Thanks
Does anyone have any cross breeds of the chickens in the title? I have an Australorp rooster over White Wyandotte pullets and was wondering what colors I might get. These are hatchery birds so I have no ideas of the genetic breakdown(to use the calculator) of either or if that matters.
If...
I know there's probably an easy answer to this question but I can't find it .
My pullets(Australorps and wyandottes) have been laying for about a month or so and the eggs are slowly becoming a consistent medium-large size. Are these ok to incubate? And what size egg would be to small to try...
This may be a silly question but I had seen pics of some RIWs here recently and was hoping someone could explain the difference between them and White Wyandottes? I have a few of the WWs and to my untrained eye, I really couldn't distinguish between the two.
Thanks
I was looking to buy the 1610 egg turner to go into a homemade incubator. My questions were:
1) Does the unit plug directly into a wall outlet or do have to have a 12v converter?
2) What are the dimensions?
Thanks in advance.
