all roosters! What luck. All of the four chicks I got in the fall are male. Oh well. I have already sent three to a farm up north. Lets see how long I can keep one rooster.

I just picked up a nice dog door at a thrift shop for cheap. It would make an excellent door for the coop, but I am not sure the chickens will be able to push through the flap. Has anyone ever tried this before? It would work great to keep out some of the elements.
I have 4 four month silkies. One of my splash started limping yesterday. I noticed but wasn't quite sure something was wrong until today. She lays down a lot and limps when she does get up to walk. She is eatting and hopefully drinking. The other chickens are sitting next to her when she does...
I went out last night to lock up the coop and when I opened the door, all the baby silkies were sitting on the roost. Yippie, one did decide it likes the nesting box with one of my adult silkies. Oh well, at least they are not on the floor anymore. Happy New Year!
