    Silver Genetics

I have 5, 4 week old silver quail. They are wild type pattern. So if I'm understanding correctly they would be SI/si for the silver gene? I've read somewhere they need to be male SI/SI bred to female SI/si to get proper silvers. Is this correct or can I breed my heterozygous quail together and...

    BCM Hen laying weird eggs

My BCM Hen is a very healthy very large young pullet that has just started laying, her first egg was soft and her 2nd one today was paper thin and the dark coloring on the egg was spotty and just washes off. I am assuming this is because these are her first eggs? They have access to oyster...

    1 2 3 I am guessing 1 is a boy, 2 a girl? 3 is almost for certain a boy. Number 1 and 2 I'm unsure of. They are currently 4 weeks old.

    Quaker with allergies

Anyone have an idea how to help a bird with allergies. He sneezes a few times a day and occasionally his nares make a whistling sound. He has no discharge and has been taken to a vet. The vet said his lungs are clear and he looks fine. So I figure it's allergies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I'm from Eastern OK. I've grown up around farm animals my whole life, but just recently built my own chicken coop. I have 30 Buff orpington pullets at around 15 weeks old. So far they are great.
