They stick their beaks into the mud and gurgle it about and then proceed to clean their beaks by dunking it into the water, which causes it become instantly dirty and ready to change. It's so annoying!

About a month ago our ducklings hatched and until this point they all looked pretty healthy and lively. However since a week ago, I noticed this one duckling looking slightly smaller than the rest and more lethargic. She still eats as far as I can tell, haven't seen her drink in front of me...
Hey everyone, my hatchings are now a few weeks old and for the most part they're doing fine except 5 of them, which looked slightly lethargic. I took them inside and notices that their crops were empty. I soaked some bread in warm water and added a decent amount of vinegar into the mix and let...
Hey everyone! I noticed that my chick seemed to be huddled in a corner and I saw that she was being pecked by other chickens. Her feathers looked fluffed up, as if she was trying to keep warm. I took her inside for a few hours to both feed and keep her warm.
Upon further inspection, I saw that...
Hey everyone! I must say the past month and some change was pretty rough for me. My hen with canker unfortunately passed away despite my (and your!) efforts. And now my rooster seems to be sick also. I have already confirmed by peeking into his beak that it is not canker, which was the cause of...
In my previous thread, some very helpful members told me that I needed to get some metronidazole from my vet for my hen with canker. When I went to the vet he handed me a 10g sachet of sulfaclozine sodium monohydrate, which he said is the same as metronidazole, and medicates 30 liters of water...
Hey everyone, been a while since I was here, but I need some help. My hen of about 5 years suddenly seems to want to sleep a lot and while she seems interested in food and water, doesn't want to eat/drink. Although her crop isn't entirely empty. She is a bit sluggish in getting around, but...
Long story long, we got a male and female duck from our grandparents, in hopes that we can have ducks as well. After making the mistake of using agressive mite remover on their enviroment, most ducklings died :(.Although one survived, a male. So 2 males 1 female. What now?
A few of our duck eggs cracked thanks to our chickens walking all over them.Is there a chance the will still hatch? The duck is broody. The eggs have some dent like cracks and a few line cracks but no leak or large splice.
UPDATE: I convinced my mom to tape the eggs together and put them under...
Today one of her duck eggs somhow broke open and no duck inside. She carried out the shell to try to eat I managed to getherto not eat it but now she is drinking water and splashing it on herself. She's also flapping her wings. I though she might be hungry so I gave her some bread. She ate some...
As I am writing this I have 3 chickens protesting about the 1 basket they all want to lay eggs in, because they don't like sharing it. They had another coop and yesterday I made them another one, but are not having it. This elevated basket is the holy grail for the chickens. I tried enticing...
My rooster and a few others I think have a mild-severe infestation of mites.I may be exaggerating by using infested but there's a lot ranging from big small long short red and gray .My mom tried soaking them in a tea like water with leafs and then spraying some "medicine" that she bought. The...
We have a broody hen that has been sitting on a dozen eggs for a few weeks and she only managed to get 2 chicks to hatch. We currently have 10 eggs under her. Are there too many? Should I remove a few? How docI check if they are fertile? :(
