I picked up 6 Orpingtons from Tractor Supply a week ago and noticed one of them was not like the others! Any ideas? She is getting white feathers in but they have some black in them and in her tail.
I guess I'm just looking for hope?? I'm 90% sure these guys are Roos but I just need some opinions before I start finding new homes! Thanks in advance!!
I posted about this one a few weeks ago, but thought I would update now that s/he is 8 weeks! Any new ideas?! The comb has stayed the same size and color for about 4 weeks now and in my opinion s/he is more of a black with white barring rather than white with black barring. I am new to this...
Hi there! So I got a Buff Orpington from my local feed store, but I noticed something odd this last week, she is starting to get black feathers in her tail and on her wings. She is 5 weeks old. I have never seen this before in BO's ! Is this a male trait? Or could she be mixed with something...
Okay so I picked up 3 "Americaunas", I'm pretty sure they are actually EE, but one of them has some odd coloring! I have 4 EE now, and none of them look like this! I have been looking at pictures for a few days now and haven't found any EE that had this speckled look to them. Any one ever seen...
Okay I am just about 90% sure this is a roo. He's a 5 week old SLW, and as you can see the comb is pretty red, and there are three distinct rows. BUT I was looking at the feathers coming in on his back and neck, and they are not the white color that the Roos have, they look more like the pullet...
I got a Speckled Sussex who was supposed to be a pullet, I am now doubting both of those characterizations! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
Hello! About a week ago I bought 2 Americaunas. When I was buying them I saw another in the box that was injured, it looked like it may have had splayed leg. Yesterday I went back and she was still there. I took her home because I knew how to treat splayed leg. Now I'm not too sure that it is...
Okay, so I've read everywhere about the feet. Pink/white is BA, yellow is JG. BUT! My girls feet are very pink on the bottom but a slight yellow near her toes. Yet she is nearly twice the size of my SS that's the same age as her!! She has HUGE feet and has grown to be ginormous! At what age can...
Hi there! I posted about a week ago asking about the gender of my JG/Australorp, most said it was too young to make an accurate guess but someone did say she may be a pullet. This morning I went out and held her and the sun caught her feathers just right and they had a blue, green, and purple...
Hello!! I am having a difficult time figuring out when exactly to put the chicks in the coop. I have read 5-8 weeks, but I am having some issues. In Arizona right now, it has been getting in the 80s even to 90s in the day, and at night it usually stays around 75. I don't really want to put my...
Hello! I was just curious if there was anyone that happened to have pictures of a 4-5 week old Jersey Giant chick that they'd be willing to share?? I bought mine around three weeks ago, but she is growing wayyyy bigger than the other chicks, so I do believe she is a JG, but I'm praying she is...
