Hi, I would be happy if you can help me find out if this is a male or female. In one of the pictures you can also see one of the siblings but it's the same white chick in all the pictures. He/she is 3 weeks old. Thank you very much!!!!
Hi!
I have this incubator - Puisor 103t. And i want to hatch 5 serama eggs. I have this egg tray but the eggs are a bit too small for it ... can I place them directly on the yellow 'net' and turn them myself? The water is under this yellow net.
Also, for now the temp is 37.9 and the humidity...
Seramas. I am concerned because I have seen the male trying to mate her but he doesnt 'touch the spot', he is not very good at balancing. The matings I saw were not successful. This is an egg from today....
Thank you!
Hello everyone,
Our hen, Dafna, has started breathing heavily lately and her comb and wattles have also turned purple-blue. She is five years old. Poor appetite recently. No external pests. She behaves normally in the flock - that is, she keeps her place in the pecking order, goes up to the...
Hi! I have 12 seramas. 2 males, 10 females. I have noticed that the top rooster barely gets to eat... especially when I give them treats, for example bolied eggs, veggies, seeds... - he calls his females and lets them eat, nothing left to him. He looks healthy, red comb and strong (chases the...
Hi! I've noticed recently that two of my Serama females have a little less shiny feathers. From reading the forums here I saw that sunflower seeds and flax seeds can help with shiny feathers. The thing is, there are no black oil sunflower seeds in my area, only the striped ones. Is it also good...
Hi!! I give cabbage and red bell pepper every day to my chickens. This is a Bantam flock, so everything has to be small. I cut the cabbage for them with a knife. But the thing is that when you cut with a knife, the edges of the pieces remain sharp. I hope I managed to explain what I mean...
Hi! Can you please tell me if I can use this product for my chickens? It's a liquid multi-vitamin, picture attached... it doesnt state chicken though, it says birds. But no store where we live has chickens vitamins ... can we use this for our flock? thank you!
Hi! I was wondering regarding adding vitamins to the chickens diet. My birds have layer feed pellets, scratch feed (wheat, corn, etc...), veggies like cabbage and cucumbers, green leaves ... do I also need to add multivitamins to their diet?
Also... my friend gave me a box of Prime vitamins...
Hi!
I have a flock of -
4 serama females
1 female of a bigger breed, mixed
9 mixed bantam / jungle fowl females
Total 14 females
And -
2 serama roosters. One is exactly a year old, the other is about 1.5 years old.
Do I have enough roosters to have more chicks next year? The ratio is 2-14...
Hi, my serama has hatched 10 chicks yesterday. Posted pictures in another thread :)
The thing is... when the chicks try to get under her wings, there is barely enough space for all of them. When the last one is trying to get under her, another one is pushed out. And needless to say - they are...
Hi, this morning our chicks hatched under a broody - the mother is a serama and these are her own eggs. The father isnt a serama, but another bantam small breed, and he has a pea comb, while the mother has a single comb. Some of the chicks have pea combs, and some have single combs - does it...
Hi! Its day 19 of our eggs under a broody serama. Most of the eggs have pips :). But, the mother didn't eat or drink today (perhaps because of the chicks starting to hatch she went quickly back to the nest after pooping) and I am worried because the weather is pretty hot today. I offered her...
Hi, we have just found two tiny eggs of our seramas in one of the pigeons nests. Probably missed them thinking they are pigeons ones but since they havent hatched yet we doubled checked. Well, the first thing I did was to candle them and they are quite developed - looks like day 14 or 15 to me...
Hi all. We had quite a few warm and sunny weeks here, but now i heard on TV that next week there might be some rain. And I have a broody outside! She is protected from dangers but im not sure if the place is protected from water .... will the rain destroy the eggs? Will she stay in the nest to...
Hi!
Yesterday, our serama laid at about 14:00. Today, she sat in the nest at about 10:00! We were sure that it means she is starting to brood, so we gave her 7 fertile eggs (of her own - we want her to hatch only HER OWN eggs). In the evening, at about 18:00 - she left the nest and went to...
Hello! My hen laid eggs in a hide (protected from danger) but the soil there is moist. When I picked up one of the eggs I saw that there was a little water on the shell. Is it problematic? Are the eggs in the nest no longer good and we should replace them with new ones? We want her to hatch her...
Hi!
My 1 year old serama has already laid 3 eggs in her new nest so far, the problem is that in some hours of the day - there is some sunlight in this location on the eggs. Its not totally uncovered under the sky, but the sunlight reaches it. Are the eggs ruined now?? I want her to hatch her...
Hi! I bought a lovely white Cockatiel yesterday. It us about 7 months old. It was hand raised and doesnt seem to attack, but it is very afraid of us! I took it out of the cage and it showed some trust, and also rubbed his vent on my hand as it stands on my hand!!! Btw does it mean it is a MALE...
Hi :)
I started my flock with 3 bantams - 1 male and 2 females. One of the females went broody last spring and hatched 3 lovely chicks - again, 2 females and one male. Now there is a problem - I do want more chicks next spring but I might have inbreeding issues! Adding more males isnt an...
