    Chickens dying suddenly without cause

I’m going to try to keep this succinct while giving a lot of info. One week ago: -1 rooster and two hens found dead in coop at 2pm. (My husband forgot to let them out I’m sick long story). -1 hen alive and seemingly healthy. Notes- All three chickens appeared to have tried to bury their...

Chickens dying for no known reason- don’t know what to do.

Hey. I have two flocks each with a rooster. About a week ago I was having morning sickness and told my husband to let the flocks out and he forgot until 2pm. It was 84 degrees. When we opened the coop the rooster (one in my pic) and two hens were dead. The remaining hen jumped out without pause...

    What is this?

Swollen feather bases sorta under wings on back, kinda where feet would be during mating.

    Big Bare spots

(is this the right forum?) I can’t tell the difference between mites and breeding and picking but this is starting to freak me out. What is this?? Chickens were totally healthy but then I moved houses and now they have mites and I don’t even know what this is. A little overwhelmed.

    Very watery droppings, lethargic

Hello. I have one pullet not doing well. She is approx 4 1/2 months. I got her about a month ago. She had her eyes very slightly closed. Two weeks ago she started sleeping during the day. It has been sorta cold so I thought maybe she's cold but she's not. I took her in and her feet are so...

Hi, I'm not sure how to locate if something similar to this has happened so sorry it is has but my friend is losing chickens and we don't understand how. One went missing a few days ago. Literally missing. Not even a feather. This morning two hens were found dead in locked up coop, still warm...

Is this a problem? (see pic of vermin)

I have learned by lesson with leaving too much food out and will not being doing this anymore, but I noticed this guy. He was surprising as I live in the middle of town and haven't seen any of his kind around where I live. He's just one guy. He is staying. He lives under my porch now... Why does...

    Please explain overbreeding to me.

Hello, This is my first year with chickens and I have roosters and hens. They seem to be doing great. They are just starting to mate. The roosters are pretty big boys. The hens are normal sized I guess. Maybe kinda small because they are 6 months. Anyways, I don't understand how mating kills...

    New birds, not experienced.

Hi I'm really upset over a situation I just got myself into. I raised from the egg 6 very healthy, organic fed, nice chickens. 5 turned out to be roo's. ... so. I got three pullets to offset, and one chick because I had a moment of weakness. Well. I put them outside in a separate run in case...

5/6 turned out to be roo's help...

I got my first batch of chickens and raised them from the egg. 5/6 turned out to be roo's. They are 4 or so months old. One roo has new home. Two more soon to go to farm. That leaves me with 2 cockerels and one small pullet... Not a great situation. What is your advice? I'm attempting to keep...

    8 week old BR sexing

Hi! I have a barred rock that is the tiniest, and kinda darkest BUT is the only one with a comb and it's a big bright red comb! Hmmm. Could this be a roo and the big lighter ones pullets just based on comb? He also fights more often. Any help appreciated!
