    Day 22... Should I be worried?

    Today is day 22. There is one egg (out of 25) that looks liked it may have pipped but I'm not sure. A portion of the shell is missing but it looks like the membrane is in tact. Is that possible? I don't see anything else going on with the other eggs. I'm starting to get nervous!

    What should poo look like?

    I just picked up 2 silver laced wyandottes from the local feed store & their poo is quite wet and light brown. Is that right? I'm not sure how old they are, they got to the feed store yesterday but they have feathers on the tips of their wings. Thanks!

    Can't Seem to Maintain Temperature

    I'm working on a homemade bator. I have a lamp kit wired to a water heater thermostat in a styrofoam cooler. The thermostat shuts the light off at 100 but it let's the temp drop to 90 or cooler before turning back on. What to do?

    Ok, maybe this sounds stupid but I just wired my light bulb to the water heater thermostat so now how do I use the darn thing? I remember reading that someone had set theirs to turn on at 99 and turn off at 101 but I don't know how to make that happen. Thanks!

    How long can fresh eggs wait to go in the bator?

    I'll be picking up eggs next Sunday but I don't want to start incubating until the Thursday after. The eggs will be collected before Sunday so I'm guessing they'll be a week old (max) before I start incubating. Is that ok? What conditions should I keep them in while they wait?
