When I go out every night to check on my chickens, they are all very docile when they are sitting on the roost. Normally I cant go right up and pet each and every one of them, but when they sit on their roost they don't seem to mind.
Are all chickens this silly?
Thanks to all the good stuff everyone posts in the forum, I confidently put my 5-week olds out in their coop last night! The lows got only down to 65, and they were up and peepin around this morning. Happy to have more space than their cardboard box brooder in the house.

I've been as much of the forums as I can as I am constructing my coop, and trying to incorporate as much of the good stuff that I can, price be dammed!
- nipple waterers! I had no idea such things existed and its way more clean than a poopy water bowl full of shavings
- vertical hardware...
All the major work is done, framing, siding, roofing! Now for the detail work, hanging the door, screening over the windows, building nest boxes, painting, etc
Should be a fun weekend of work!
I have fuzzy feet! But what am I? My best guess is some sort of cochin, but I didnt order any cochins from MyPetChicken
Can chickens other than cochins have fuzzy feet like this? I thought this one was gonna be a silver laced wyandotte, but she looks nothing like that

so looking at Ideal and McMurray's websites, you can only order straight run bantam chicks. So if we're lucky we end up with a 50/50 split.
