I knew zero about trapping, but with the help and advice of the good folks at FNTPOST.com I've gotten two hungary male raccoons in the last three days, with six Duke dog proof traps, along the treeline of my field, where are my hens graze every day.
My little flock of 12 hens and one rooster...
I've got a covered wrap around front porch on the house, about six feet wide. The chickens have made their clubhouse under there for a couple of hours every day, while free ranging.
There's only about 18 inches under there, so perfect for them. Extremely tough for me though, to do anything...
This is a long post, so I'm editing, and adding to, it as the day allows me to, so this post will get longer as the day progresses.
So I built the Heavy Flying Fortress Chicken Tractor. It's way over built and has a few hard to come by materials, it's built to outlive me, but that's not most...

Day before...
I've got 12 hens, they sleep in the chicken tractor, but free range all day, and mostly hang out around our house.
The tractor ranges from 150 to 400 feet from the house, depending on where it is in the field, it's on the close end of that right now.
I've got two Leghorns who are being lazy...
Thought y'all might enjoy this. Moving the Fortress back to my house where the pasture is better. Roped up the 50" wide anti-Dig Mats, was easier than I thought it was going to be. Had the Roll Back take off his side rails. His whole bed is 96" wide, the frame of the tractor is also 96" wide...
Just wanted to thank everyone here for sharing your ideas and experiences. Thanks to y'all, my rooster and his 12 hens, are having a very good life, and are laying lots of eggs with very yellow yolks! We finished the tractor in August and have been using it ever since.
I am lazy at heart, so...
