    Already started pipping on day 18!

    AHH! Went to move eggs to lockdown on day 18 today and realized as we were moving them that 1 had already pipped :eek: alot were internally pipped as well when we candled them as we moved to lockdown. Sure hope they don't shrink wrap. Couldn't believe it!

    2yo hen gasping for breath no other symptoms

    2yo hen visibly gasping and labored breathing and making a very loud 'bgawk' sound frequently as she breathes. No bubbles, discharge, sneezing, liquid anything else respiratory related apparent. Appeared healthy yesterday.

    Chicken's face very swollen

    Noticed this chicken off by herself yesterday acting sick but couldn't see anything visibly wrong with her. Isolated her just to keep an eye on her and today she looks like this 😬😳 super swollen eye/face and her eye when open looks red. Any suggestions?

    HOT Weather = Early hatch?!

    Our weather has been brutally hot the last 3 weeks and when I checked my broody's pen this AM for food/water she had a freshly hatched chick under her 😳😳😳 It's ONLY DAY 18 which means it started pipping yesterday day 17 at some point. Hope it's ok!!

    Hot Weather = Poor Hatch Rates??

    I've noticed that when our temperatures are high during summer hatches as opposed to spring hatches my broody hens seem to have less successful hatches and we end up with more shrink wrapped chicks 😥 Any one else?

    6wk old Chick suddenly has strange looking toes

    What is wrong with chicken's legs?

    My 1yo hen's legs scales seem to be just coming off! The scales still on arent raised up like scaly leg mites. Any ideas on cause or treatment? No sign of mites on her legs and skin on legs looks normal.
