    Help with TSC mystery breed

I know they're young but I have no idea what these might even be. I've googled images of several different types of breeds but can't find anything similar. So any guesses would be appreciated. They were in the straight run bin with the labels Rhode island white and welsummer. Hoover's hatchery...

    Possibly egg bound?

I have a SS about 8 months old. I noticed yesterday she was laying down a lot. My husband went out this morning and said it looked like she had pasty butt. Greenish colored poo stuck to her feathers. I went and checked her out. She is barely walking/standing long. Her tail is pointed towards the...

When would a rooster become aggressive?

If a rooster becomes aggressive at what age would this most likely happen? We have 4 cockerels to 6 pullets around 14 weeks and need to thin out the flock. We just don't know what age would be appropriate to choose the right roo. We have one that seems to not like my husband very much. He pecks...

I've seen a couple pictures of red Sussex chicks and they have white heads. Google doesn't seem to be bringing lots of images of red Sussex chicks only chickens. I have...

    Help identifying chick breed

This chick has been a mystery to us since we brought it home. Also can you tell if it's a pullet or a cockeral at about 4 weeks? The comb is much larger than most of our other chicks.

    When to Name Chicks?

When do y'all name your chicks? We have 13 of varying breeds and right now I can tell a handful of them apart. Not only that but what if they turn out to be cockerels that we named Patsy and Betty?

Do I have Cornish X or not?

We bought 4 Cornish X from TSC Sunday the 18th. A woman who worked there said they had the chicks there for about a week and they usually receive the chicks a couple days after they hatch. By our estimate they should be around 2 weeks by now. I'm reading about how CX grow so fast and now second...

    What breed is this?

Can anyone tell me what breed these are? We got chicks from TSC Sunday and they had bin labeled only as straight runs that we got these 3 out of. If the pictures aren't great I can take more! The third chick looks like the first picture.
