Hi everyone,
I have a 1-month old buff Orpington which I really wish it is a she.
I don’t see any development in comb yet, her same hatch brother has already got a big red comb.
I have heard Orpington mature slower and there is a chance she might suddenly grow out a comb in the next few weeks...
Hi,
I have a Light Sussex which has went broody. This is her first time and she is around 1 year old.
I have read broody hen only comes out for food 1-2 times a day. But she comes out 5-6 times a day. She puffs up when she is outside and does go back to sit again but I don’t think those...
Hi,
I have one hen and she is losing feathers on her belly.
I bought her as a POL in May this year so I don’t know exactly how old is she, since she started laying in Jun so I assume she is just under 1 year old.
Recently I notice her feathers are missing, it starts at very bottom and now I...
Hi,
I have a white leghorn which I bought as POL 2 month ago and she started laying roughly 3 weeks ago.
She has laid almost everyday but this week she only laid one egg on Monday and stopped.
I am not sure what could be the problem?
Does White Leghorn in general lays during the dark season...
Hi,
I bought this Lohman brown as POL 2 months ago and her comb has not really changed much during this 2 months.
I thought Lohman brown suppose to lay from a early age?
I also bought the Light Sussex at the same time, but since Sussex is a heavy breed I don’t expect her to lay soon.
But just...
Very funny.
I have a older hen who lived by her own for several months and as winter approaches I think it would a bit hard for her to handle the cold by herself.
so I bought 3 young pullets so ideally they would cuddle together at night.
Surprisingly my older hen has been super nice and...
Hi,
This morning I heard fox noise and I went to my garden and saw the fox has killed my rabbit.
The fox ran away and the rabbit is died.
My question is, is the rabbit still eatable? I am worried if the fox bite will contaminate rabbit meat?
But I don’t want to waste the meat.
Thanks!
Hi,
My rabbit gave birth to 8 baby rabbits, this is her first litter and she doesn’t know what to do.
And she doesn’t have any milk either. I have tried to give her all sort of food that suppose to help but it didn’t work.
I have taken the baby rabbit from day 3 and bottle feeding them two...
Hi,
Has anyone used Stunner/Captive bolt gun on rabbit?
I am starting to raise some meat rabbits and is learning how to humanly dispatch them.
I came across this item and as wondering if this is useful.
I would imagine it is like a gun which kills rabbit instantly.
But as I have never used it...
Hi,
I have a golden top and she has not laid or go broody since November.
I can see she has lost some feathers on her chest so maybe it is because she is molting.
But it has been few months now and she still has a bald chest.
Their daily diet consists layer pellets, bird seeds, meal worms...
Hi,
I have 4 hens, three of them hatched together and the other one is one month later. They are around 9-10 months old now and all living together happily.
One of the hen I am questioning is a Goldtop, a cross between silkie and light Sussex. She is very easy to go broody. In average once...
Hello,
I have a Gold Top Hen (crossbreed between golden silkie rooster and light Sussex hen) and she is extremely broody. She started to lay when she was 7 month old and she is now turning 9 month old but has gone broody for 4 times. I usually break her by putting her in cold water and don't...
I have a 8 week chick. It came with other eggs labelled as warren brown. But it starts to look a lot different to its mates. It has grey skins and a slightly spread out tail feathers and a head feathers. I really wish it is a she. Can anyone tell?
I have one broiler. The eggs which I brought from called them Ross Cobb. Not quite sure what that is. I actually got 12 eggs but my incubator broke down and only one survived. When there is only one, it becomes special and makes me really hard to eat it. She looks like a she and is currently...
hello, I have two silkies, one black and one grey which I incubated myself.
They are almost 12 weeks old now. The black one is definitely a male he started crowing since last week, crazzzzy! I though silkie start crowing about 4-6 month old. His comb and wattle is getting bigger everyday so I am...
