These two have slightly more comb and color than some others I am sure are pullets, but less than the ones in this group that are for sure cockerels.... will post one of those in comments
Hatched 11 from last night into this morning.... The splash color ones are from three hens, one easter egger and two sapphire gems. The blue ones are from two starlight green eggers, and one blue was from one of the sapphire gems eggs.
This little one is the only one to hatch, out of three I set from my eldest hen. She is four now, and is a light Brahma. Daddy is a splash Silverudd rooster... one of the three wasn’t fertilized, and the other was apparently double yolked, and died off because of it... oh well, lol I bought some...
Chick hatched stained yellow?? Rooster is a splash Silverudd Blue and the hen is either easter egger or a mixed breed that is blue laced red in color...
Heard a commotion outside where my flock was freeranging, and a small hawk was after em! My rooster was going after it after it landed on the ground having failed its first attempt, and it lifited off and went after my youngest daughters favorite hen, which dh scared it off.... All are present...
A year ago Chicklet brooded on 13 eggs, hatched 10, smooshed one hatchling( ) and raised 9. 6 were cockerals, of which two are still alive (coons/coyotes made off with the rest along with the rooster who was daddy)
Well, she has gone broody on 13 again...these will be babies by my Blue...
I just love this boy, I call him Blue, lol.. He so far, has not ever tried to go after us people, and he walks around making this old man grumbling noise,(HAVE got to get it on vid!!)
He also, ahem, will sit in the hay nest the hens built and sing the egg song, lol
I knew it was going to happen sometime, just the chances when you free range the flock... Yesterday 3 adult silver lace wynadottes, and two younger pullets disapeared...
There is a spt with feathers from one silver lace, but no blood or anything else. Just looks like she was moulting and left...

She seems to be doing good.. She has ate and drank a bit, Gave her 1/4 cc pen this morning... will repeat that tomorrow, in the hopes of holding off any illiness she could develop. There is no telling how long she had been in the water... they usually go in to their pen or go to roost on the...
