It's been a couple of years so I wanted to check and see if I remember correctly. At 18 days you remove the eggs from the turner and lock them in. And I'm unsure of the humidity level required. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
I bought some Blue Slate turkey eggs and there was some confusion in the e-mail messsage that I got when the eggs were shipped.
Now they are 15 days old and 2 are black and one is brown and I am thinking that they aren't Blue Slate but not sure as I have never had Blue Slate's. Can anyone tell...

I have had them on paper towels and it is getting to messy to quick with 27 of them in there was wanting to know if it would be okay to put them on shredded paper if it won't hurt them.
Put 12 eggs into lock down on evening of the 9th Sunday, Monday at noon 6 piped that evening 2 out of egg 2 with beak stuck through shell watch for a while no movement. So I pulled plastic lid from top and took out these 2 egg, open up and sure enough dead. The other 2 I broke away the top of...
I taped his leggs together since they were sticking staight out to the sides and he was having trouble walking. But know he just lays there with his leggs out to the side, will he learn to walk or is there something else that I need to do? Will this take very long to correct, he is just 1 day...
I have been putting a little vinegar in my water for the chicks do you do the same with quail?
What do you use for a waterier when they first hatch mine have just started hatching and don't want them to drown, I don't know if there like chicks this way or not. Any advise will be greatly...
I have 15 RIR and 5 NH that all hatched the same time in the same bator and they are now 1 week 2 days old I have 9 FCBM that are 4 days old and I have them seperated now. I have read that you don't want to mix chickens from different places at first keep them seperated for a while but did not...
Was wondering if anyone out there has come up with a way to keep the chicks from wasting so much feed from the feeders? I have round feeders right know and pit them up on a block of wood so they could not scratch the feed out but they are still doing by using the beeks anf suggestions?
My eggs have been hatching like crazy today (21 day) one of them tore his stomach lining a little where she/he was attached to the egg and there is a little of the insides sticking out . I don't want to destroy the chick if I don't have to, does anyone know anything I can do for the chick?
Yeah!
Just watched my first chick come out of the egg 5 more that have a pip. I have not read anywhere yet and was wanting to know do the chicks need to have a light over the bator while they are hatching during the night? I can see that it is going to get noisy in the house when there...
First time hatch and day 18 is here and since I have to go to work early I have chosen to set them tonight as I candle them.
Correct me if I am wrong, I have an incubator setting now with temp. at 99.5 and humidity at around 70 - 80 to put them into and the only thing to do know is just...
I candled my eggs on day 9 discarded the one's that showed no signs of life. Today is day 14 and there is an odor in the incubator should I candle again and see if I need to dicard an egg? Or do they start to smell the closer they get to hatching? I really don't want an egg to explode and I also...
I have been reading on this site that you don't want to rely on the old stick thermometer, to use a digital thermometer / hygrometer. So I bought two at Wal-Mart it's a Springfield small white one put one in each incubator. Well after a couple of days I noticed that one hardly ever changed and...
