Ok, so i bought 2 Muscovyeys to add to my flock. as soon as we let them out the box they were everywhere (even with 1 wing clipped). they are safe and comfortable in the workshop atm. but want advice on calmest /easieat way to catch them to put in their pen. also will they integrate ok with the...
So today is the first day of duckie lockdown here in UK. I didn't even know about it until late yesterday afternoon! So had no time to prepare. I've been looking online but struggling to find any answers to how long it will last. Anyone have an idea?
So my two girls have barely been out of their nest box recently (must have missed a few eggs). They are sharing a massive nest about 8+inches high, sitting on eggs. This evening we saw the bottom half of an egg just outside the nest, so went to get a look and saw the head and eyes of a...
So I've not posted for a few months and decided to post a picture of my duckies now. They all have their heads down looking sheepish, as I caught them in the part of the garden they are not supposed to be in! Back to front meet Ashe, Charlie and Harlee :D
One of my 9/10 week old ducks (drake) was stuck behind the small pool in their pen yesterday morning. No idea how he got there or why, but I feel he was probably there all night. He had really bad wry neck as a hatchling and I managed to get him fixed up after 4/5 days of TLC. But he has always...
My duckling is trying to hatch but at least 1 foot is over her head. I can see her trying to push the shell away but she doesn't seem to be able to. What do i do?
So I went to turn my 5 eggs, only to find 1 was already hatching! 2 breaks in the shell, but it hasn't broken through the membrane yet. Can it breath ok? or should I make a tiny hole in the membrane? it should be day 23 btw. maybe the warmer weather here when they shipped caused them to develop...
So my WH laid her first egg last night ( her 5 month birthday) I think she would have laid sooner, but only got straw in her pen yesterday. It was the perfect size and lovely and smooth. Such an excited ducky mama :D
Okay, so my duckling has got to the point where she is scratching her own feet (and my skin) is it okay to trim her nails? I've had parakeets for over 20 years so know how to, but what is the best way to hold her? she's 3 weeks now so getting big. Not a 1 handed job anymore!! tyia
My duckling (Harlee lucky ducky!) will be cuddling for a while, then makes a certain peeping noise. So i put her down and she proceeds to run about for a few seconds, has a poop, runs for a few more seconds then comes back for cuddles! All the while making very happy peeping noises. it's so funny.

So I have one duck egg due to go into lockdown tomorrow evening, but I have 4 eggs not due til feb 14th. I'm hand turning them, so want to know if I should keep opening the bator to turn the 4 or will they be okay for a few days without turning? All help appreciated.
Ok, so I have one duck egg due 6-8 Feb, and 4 due on 13/14th feb (fingers crossed). any tips when (if) duckling no 1 comes? it will be alone for a week with just me for company. They are Welsh Harlequins btw. Any help appreciated. TIA
Hi guys, I have a 10 day old duck egg that I think is a dud, but I noticed last night it seems to have a clear coating on part of it. I'm sure it wasn't there before. Do eggs ooze? and should I remove it from my incubator?
