    Muddy Polish!

Hi guys! One of my polish hens, Georgette, must have fallen in the mud yesterday during the rain. Today when i went to see her she has a TON of mud cakes onto one side of her crest. I have tried to wash it with a washcloth but cannot get it off. She's extremely skittish and fidgety. Any tips for...

    Limping silkie roo

Hi everyone! This afternoon I noticed my silkie rooster limping a little bit. Tonight I went to go check on them and noticed that he was laying outside in the run. He never went in the hen house with the others. Now he’s just refusing to walk. If I hold him he can definitely grip onto me with no...

    Corid dosing?

I suspect my girls may have cocci. I’d like to treat them ASAP but I’m a little bit stuck on dosing. I have a fairly large bottle corrid . The dosing instructions says 16 ounce for every 100 gallons. My waterer is only about 1 gallon… I’m really not good at math so I’m wondering what the dosing...

    14 week old silkie… Gender?

Hi everyone? The silky is about 14 weeks old. Some people have told me it looks like a roo but I’m not quite sure as it hasn’t crowed yet or displayed any rooster behaviors. I know silkies are very hard to sex so I’m not even sure what I’m dealing with here LOL

Hi everyone!. I was cleaning out the Brooder today and noticed a little bit of blood in my babies poop. All of them are acting fine. I checked all of their vents and there’s no prolapse. They are all almost 5 weeks old. Four of them are bantams and one is an Americana. They aren’t showing any...

    Hot weather?

Hi everyone. Later this week is supposed to hit 89° where I live which is very uncommon. Recently we had a nasty fox attack and the girls are not going into the run nor are they free ranging while at work. They are locked up in the coop until we can get the supplies we ordered. My question is...

    Wandering chickens

Hello all. I got chickens last spring and had no issues with them wandering. This spring, however, they have been wandering into the road and way too far from home. This year my rooster is fully matured and it seems he’s always with the few hens I find down the road. Is it the rooster leading...
