A local farmer gave me 12 eggs to hatch but they had no idea what breed their chickens are. The eggs were small and light brown/cream color. I think they might be Cochin but I'm not sure and the silver/white color is throwing me off. Any ideas what breed they might be and what color?
He/She is almost 5 weeks and stands like a rooster but has a lot more feathers than the other Barnie chick but it's comb is smaller and isn't as red. Anybody have any ideas on gender or is it too early to tell?
As a feather comparison the chick in the front is the same age and breed
I ordered 12 eggs off Ebay on June 3. They arrived last Friday (the 7th). I let them sit in a cool place all day and put them in the incubator last night. I did notice that one of the eggs looked really dark inside when I candled them yesterday and it smelled funny but I thought maybe the yolk...
First off let me start by saying that I live on the edge of town, but still in city limits. My new neighbors informed me that they will be getting 12 guineas to put in their backyard. I wouldn't care except that I thought that they were really good at flying and I don't want them in my backyard...
I have a two year old boer doe that I noticed was eating on her knees this morning. I've heard that younger babies that grow too fast sometimes do this, but she is two. This is the first time I've noticed this. I didn't know if it was normal or if there was something wrong. She is walking fine...
One of my goats had her babies yesterday. They are nursing fine and moving around. I noticed that all she does is feed them. The other goats protect them and lick them. They follow her outside, but then she decideds that she wants to go to the pasture. She brings them back into the shed and...
I have a boer goat that is expected to kid soon. What time of day is most common? Is it in any way related to when you feed them? I just figured if I knew what was common then I could expect her to do the opposite.
I don't want to start a debate. I just want to know if rules for teacher regarding what they can and can't discuss. What I mean is can a teacher talk bad about politicians. Im just upset about something that my sisters teacher told her class and it might be something that could get her fired.
How old do chicks need to be before switching from chick starter or crumbles to adult chicken feed?
PS- If this is posted somewhere could someone direct me in the right direction.
One of my dogs can get out anywhere. We have tried putting things around the base of our chain link fence and even tying the fence down but nothing works. He just goes right under or digs right through. He has an id on his collar so luckily people call when they find him, but I'm worried he'll...
I'm new here so work with me. I recently ordered 25 chicks from MMH and was wondering if anybody would know what my extra chick is. Thanks
Just a picture of all of them
You can't really see it, but he/she has yellow on her belly
