So we have this Cockerel and he was born with a squint beak which never bothered him we always checked if he was eating properly etc and he got on fine. We have just caught him fighting with one of our cockerels covered in blood and turns out he’s lost quite a bit of his beak.
He’s still able...
Anyone have any idea what could have caused this? It’s not bird flu obviously as she would be dead by now she’s been like this for about 2 weeks now! Her eye was swollen but it went down as we kept her isolated from the others and on medicated water but her comb just seems to be getting bigger...
We already have a male guinea fowl and have had him for at least 8 years now and would like to introduce a lady for him but we aren’t quite sure how he would react, if he would accept her or not. Anyone have any idea?
So this is J Cole, he was born with his beak like this and we didn’t really notice it until he got older. He’s a few months now and it just looks like it’s getting worse. Any tips on what to do? Does it hurt him? Will he live a happy life like this? He still eats and drinks fine, always has a...
Just found this in between the legs of one of our male leghorns... Is this a tumour..? He did have bumble foot and has been on medication (baytril) for a while wondering if it’s got something to do with that?
We live in Scotland and we are convinced these are ticks but my sister posted this on another page on Facebook and they said it could be stick tight fleas? We have never heard of them before so just wanted other peoples opinions.
We have been giving 400iu vitamin E to a hen with wry neck for 2 weeks now, she doesn’t seem to be getting any better she still can’t walk. Is it possible to be giving her too much Vitamin E?
We have a hen with wry neck. Her head is all twisted and she’s unable to stand at the moment. We are currently giving her vitamin E and selenium but we are unsure how much vitamin E we should be giving her. The ones we have right now are 400iu one capsule a day.
Any ideas?
Anyone else had a cockerel with the biggest comb ever?
This is our boy Foghorn Leghorn. We hatched him last year he’s about 7 months old. We have had hens for over 20 years and in that time we have NEVER seen a cockerel with such a big comb and wattles.
Competition time? 😂
These two were hatched from a pure legbar mum and well the dad is either a cross legbar or a marsh daisy! Unsure of gender.. kind of guessing that the white one could be a boy but really not too sure. They’re about 6 weeks old.
Another question, we have a lot of crows about and other than the...
I tried to google this but couldn’t find anything it’s just out of curiosity. So when we have a hen that’s taken by a fox there’s usually always a patch of feathers where it’s been taken but very occasionally we have a missing hen but cannot find any feathers at all! Today we had a fox attack...
We got this hen from a lady who was getting rid of her hens and we found out she was going to kill all the old ones so we took her and a see others along with us. Just noticed this the other day on her leg.. we have been bathing her in warm water with epsom salt and using a foot rot spray but...
