Could this be vent gleet? Any way to reverse diarrhea that is killing my hen :(

My chicken has bad diarrhea. Super weak and very very thin. I think that’s the diarrhea is cause of her weakness and weight loss which is likely from the antibiotics she had for a cough. I really want to try to save her. what can I go give her aside from electrolytes and pro biotics and...

    Chicken heat pads?

anyone in cold climates ever try these at night, if they have a small flock? Do they stay warm even if it’s below freezing out and if so do they start off hot enough to burn chicken feet? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B081FKHCLZ/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A4GSBIK73VBP9&psc=1.

Sub cutaneously injected with tylan, looks quite pink and puffy at injection site

Need immediate help please. First time injecting antibiotics. I just went to do it for the next dose and see there is a fluid collection under the skin and some puffiness. I don’t think it’s infected but could be wrong but it does seem like the fluid has just collected there as that part of...

Persistent cough in bantam hen despite two rounds of treatment

When I got this hen a few months back she came with a cough and breathing rattle. I used 7 days of oxytet and she improved greatly. Then two weeks later, I noticed her beak was open often and she had a squeak toy sounding cough esp when she runs around. Otherwise acting normally. Eating drinking...

Corid for cocci again?? Only been a week or two :(

Finished treating with corid over a week ago and now it’s back. What the heck? It was gone nearly 10 days. Does this often recur and if so what do I do? I don’t want them on corid forever. Is there anything else that could cause this blood? Happened overnight. 😞 I’m so upset. Is there anything...

    Coccidiosis update and question

As per your advice, I started corid powder last Thursday. Today, I saw one poop that looked runny and one other that had a small spot of blood. The rest have been fine since day three of treatment. So, it’s been 7+ days of powder - can’t imagine why I saw another bloody poop today. Any guidance...

Returning a rooster that has been exposed to cocci but was raised on medicated food.

Need immediate advice please. Tomorrow I am returning a rooster that is picking on my young pullets to the original owner. This rooster was on medicated feed since a chick, the new pullets from a different source were not and were also not vaccinated. I started them on Corid Wednesday after...

Day three of Corid- when should bloody droppings stop?

Day three of Corid treatment for the new 5 week old pullets. Should the blood be gone by now? Or no? It’s only in few droppings, definitely not most. But still 😞. Eating drinking and acting great but I thought I read meds “help” within 24 hours. Perhaps that doesn’t mean stopping the...

Well I guess it is worse than I thought. Cocci guidance needed ASAP

Damnit. Brand new 5 week old Cochin bantams. I started the Medicated powder in their water last night. What else should I do to save them? I was optimistic it was just cecal poop but I can see it isn’t. They’re all acting normally. That’s a lot of blood so is that a pretty bad sign?

Bloody poop in brand new 5 week olds. Help ASAP please.

Do I treat with powder in food? It was one poop of many and I don’t know which pullet it came from. All are acting great. This sucks. Just got them a few days ago.

Apologies if wrong thread! Male or female 5 week old Cochin Bantam

Was told by a 30 year breeder on a chicken farm these are females. Does the redder comb mean a male? Don’t worry about the poop. That carrier in the coop is just another shady place and I’m about to clean it.
