Greetings, duckish folks!
I am in the process of building a 4 x 4' shed for my little sis, in the hope of her getting three ducks. Would it be better to put on a plywood floor and raise it on cement blocks like you'd do for chickens, or just put it on the ground on some sort of thin support...
Free male Button quail available to responsible home. I believe he's a Golden Pearl Redbreasted, very handsome little bird.
His mate died, and he is very unhappy.
I'm located in Owego, NY -- about an hour south of Syracuse, and 22 miles east of Binghamton.
If you're interested, please email...
Our dog is very sick, and can't walk for some reason. So my dad, mom and brother are taking her to the vet for the second time today.
And my dad didn't want my sister and me to come, so I'm sitting here listening to the Phantom of the Opera on my iPod and on BYC. I hate waiting!!!!! It would...
So, I can't decide what to go as! I made my brother this really amazing phantom of the opera mask, and my little sister is going to dress up as a "Victorian Princess". I was going to make a chiton, do my hair up and be an ancient Greek, but the chiton proved too difficult. I am something of an...
I have three beautiful, cute and goofy little teenage Silkie cockerels which you can have for free! They're almost three months old: I hatched them on June 11th.
I'd prefer not to ship; I am in Owego, NY, 22 miles west of Binghamton and about 1.5 hours south of Syracuse. You have your choice...
Chocolate Revel bars! They are DELICIOUS--I tasted them, but the rest are for church.
And I made from-scratch Grape pie :
So, better than the official BYC brownies? Yes? No? I sure think they are!

My brother and his wife are having a baby girl who was supposed to be born next week on the 15th. But my sister-in-law's water broke this morning, and the baby may be born some time today. Prayers for a safe delivery and that my brother won't worry too much would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...
I have for sale 4-5 Partridge Silkie chicks, hatched on June 11 of the current year, which makes them about 2.5 months old. Very cute; they are only pet quality because several have only 4 toes on one foot, making them un-showable.
Mostly cockerels; I may have 1-2 pullets in this batch...
I'm hoping my dad will let me buy a pair of Button Quail from a nearby 4-H member who is breeding his. I 'd have the choice of Cinnamon Pied or Blue-breasted Pied. Anyone have pictures of these colors? IF I can get them!

The pullets in question are at least 20 weeks old; total freerangers; and I've just noticed them beginning to squat. so how do I get them to lay in the nest-boxes like the older hens do? Should I shut the older hens out during the daytime? It would be hard, but they aren't laying much anyway, as...
I thought I'd won the battle with them last winter. Today I was looking under the feathers of a hen, and she's crawling (well, maybe not that bad) with them. So is the goat. I guess it isn't an immediate health risk, but . Sigh. They must be living in the old wood of the barn. Drat it all! If...
