Hi! Pictures will come soon, or tomorrow, i really don't know. To explain it immediately I can't see anything wrong with her but I should probably start with the situation. She's always been blind in one eye, I have no idea why it kind of just happened and she's been like that for probably her...
I would say we're pretty good at predator proofing, and keeping all predators away. Though, when you compare it; mammals are so much easier to keep away than birds or reptiles. With mammals you just need a dog to do half the work, if not more but other animals couldn't care less about the smell...
Here I am, again, asking for help.
I have a hen that's about 2 years old, she along with her sister have always been our best egg layers. Though on the 12th of september I realised she's having diarrhea, like hell. Just normal diarrhea, I caught her and had to clean her because it was...
I always thought I was good at identifying chickens, but now with these rescues- who I don't even know the age of, let alone see them grow up, it proves I really do suck at this..
Seems to be leaning to be a rooster, which sucks,, but I'm still holding out hope!
''She's'' a rescue, I do not...
I feel like I'm always posting threads for help with unwell birds, but here we go again.
I do volunteer work at a rescue, and this July we had a whooping 97 chickens rescued. Their background being an old man that hatched too many birds while he was unwell, and eventually died with 200-300...
Apperantly, without my knowledge, my mother had put up a water barrell in the chicken run that I was not aware of, not untill today, when she scream out ''Barney is dead'', pulling out the soaked, seemingly dead rooster out of the water.
First thought, he is so dead. Barely any signs of...
My duck recently lost his brother, he was lethargic so we took him inside trying to figure out what was wrong; We were going to euthanize him but it took too long and he ended up dying with us inside.
His brother has been his only friend for years, they were my grandfather's ducks since 2018...
Okay so, I feel like my artstyle has been degrading over the years..
I really need to improve. And I need tips for it.
I do not want a realistic artstyle - I think that's pretty obvious if you just look at my current artsyle.
Just, any tips will be greatfully appreciated
Hii Witches!
This is a thread for all witches, no matter how old or young,
For those who are experienced, beginners or are interested in starting!
I, myself am a beginner and I'm very unexperienced. I started in June 2023.
I'm slowly being taught more and more by my neighbour, who has been a...
Okay so,
Me and my mom have been wanting to dig a pond for a while now, and we've been interested in getting a turtle(s) for it.
Though there are a few things we are uncertain about nor can find information on the web for.
We live in sweden, it gets real cold here. Average temp in the winter...
1 year old hen hatched 2022 April.
Layed an egg without a shell before we noticed this, please help
Ask any further questions, I'm shaking and in a panic. My minds everywhere
Okay so — First of all, it wasn't her entire beak or even half, just the tip but to the point where whatever under the beak is exposed.
I don't know what happened, I found her like this. She doesn't seem to be in pain.
Do I leave it be?? What do I do??
My hen seemingly had a prolapsed vent, I freaked out, did research and was mentally preparing for what I had to do, before I was going to do that I was going to show my mom, but by that time she had sucked it back in?
Is she fine?? Why did this happen in the first place??
She's a polish, 11...
Can we put the 5 week old chicks in the coop with no heat yet? Obviously separated by the hens. I've been looking at different sources, and I'm getting alot of mixed answers.
Opinions?
Me and my mom were looking at our chicks today, just making sure that everyone's okay. But we realised that one of our polish chicks of 1 week 6 days (to be exact) has a crossed beak.
Now my mom is panicked, she's really upset over this because she doesn't want it to be on pain it's entire life...
What does a cayuga ducks first eggs look like? We've found 7 eggs from our lovely girl, all of them being white. They're supposed to be white at first right? My mom is doubting that they're cayugas, she just wants the black eggs. But I beg to differ. :) I'm in a rush writing this sorry if it...
Okay so,
I have 10 chickens as of now, I'll be picking up 2 more this friday, that would be 12 hens and 2 roosters.
I know it's 10 hens per rooster, but is there something else I could do but to slaughter one of the roosters!?
They fight, *A LOT*, we've seperated the 2 with their own hens...
