The feet are lightly feathered. The body type is different from my bantam chochins that I received the same day. And the feet are a different color and not nearly as feathered as theirs.
Can anyone tell me what this guy or gal is yet by chance?🙂 Sex would also be helpful if possible. I asked a few weeks ago when it still had it's baby plumage. I was told mallard and Rouen. So hoping we can tell now.
I'm trying to determine if my satin silkie or regular silkie is the mama of the grey chick. Daddy is a full splash silkie. Mama is either a silver partridge silkie or a black satin who is raising them.
My first time mama Raven, just hatched at least one of her eggs. Her nest is in a bin however and I'm afraid the baby won't be able to get up out to eat or drink, but mama is still setting on them and is very protective. Should I intervene or let mama on her babies and remaining eggs. (I've only...
I have two Pekin who I am 99.99999 percent sure are one male and one female. The male is much larger, it's head is bigger, feet are thicker and it has a much more whispered quack then my super loud obvious female. But it has no drake feather? I got them in February, so I am assuming he really...
Can anyone help me identify this ducklings breed? Not the white one. It's a Pekin. They are from rural king. The people who bought them did not know the breed.
I am taking in two ducklings from a woman who's son bought them at rural king, who cannot have them in town. I am curious on what you guys think the black and yellow duckling is? The yellow is a Pekin I believe. Which I already have. The other one looks smaller. The feet are orange and black.
I'm part of several groups on Facebook that do dry hatches. One thing I noticed a few times was people mentioning a no turn method? Before diving into it too much I'd like to hear what other people have personally experienced doing this? I was always under the impression that without turning the...
Is there anyway to know if an egg if fertile? I've never incubated but a friend would like some eggs from my girls to incubate. I have two roosters, but, I do want to make sure that the eggs she gets are going to have the best chance of hatching, on my end anyway. Any certain way to tell ? 😬
Would anyone like to have a go at sexing my pekins? I am at a total loss 😬 what for photos will I need ? Lol. They all look so similar. I have four. I plan to keep two and the other two go to join my dad's flock, so I'd like to know their sexes before hand if possible
Thoughts? Other chicks are very obvious if they are boys. This one's harder. You can see another the same age behind the one in question, who is obviously a boy lol.
8-9 weeks, mix.
I bought nine barnyard mixes in early February. The mixes came from full blooded beilfelder, marans, welsummer, leghorns, cinnamon queen, death layers , barred rocks, olive eggers... I believe they were born the 7th or 11th of February. By now I know I have quite a few future roosters. I THINK...

I have four silkies. All are white. One has had weird wings since it's wing feathers started coming in. They kind of point upwards. My other three do not. I have a comparison photo below. Powderpuff, Creampuff and Cloud all have flat silkied wings. Coco puffs swoop upwards. He is also more...
I honestly am having a hard time determining if this is her crop or a huge mass. I was away for a few days and noticed this when I checked on them. The lady I had taking care of them didn't notice but she really just fed and watered them and collected eggs from my older ones. Can I help her??
A lady posted on Craigslist that she has a bantam hen that she's been trying to help for a week who has a swollen eye. It apparently lives in her basement. And she wants to rehome it or find someone who can dispatch it for her. Me being me, felt bad, so I messaged her asking for photos. What do...
