    Sunbathing chicks..

    Have you ever seen anything like this? They seem to go into a trance when I hold them, especially if it sunny out. They look dead, especially this one, he/she really relaxes. Weird huh? Cat trying to look all innocent. Who me? Inga

    Look at this first egg!!

    The small brown and medium green egg are from chickens who have been laying since last week. This is the first from this hen today. She did make the egg song before laying it. There was a little bit of blood on it too. Poor girl, her first and she got no break with smaller eggs! Inga

    We got our first egg yesterday. I was surprised to find a small green egg when I went and checked the nest boxes. After so many months of not finding anything. Well, I was really surprised that it was green. Because the chicken that we know to be an EE, I didn't think was ready to lay yet...

    Help me identify and guess the sex of these chickens!

    I got these chickens from a neighbor down the road in May. I assume they were born in late March/early April. We thought they were all hens at first but 2 are definitely trying to crow. They sound broken though. I am thinking by reading and looking at pics that we actually have 3 roosters...
