i get the feeling that i did the right thing too late, or the wrong thing all together. so either way i feel guilty..
i know people say dont help a chick hatch, but i couldnt stand to sit there and watch the poor thing drown. it had pipped around 6 last night, and today was still trying, but it...
one just popped out of the egg and has a red bulb on its stomach. i think its just the rest of the yolk that wasnt absorbed, will it eventually absorb and be ok?
so, my hen went broody about 2 weeks ago and i didnt have a seperate coop or place available to seperate her, plus i thought she would be more likely to stay happy and comfortable in her regular coop. so this is what i made:
it has a solid wooden top and front piece. and then the bottom is...
omg, i dont know exactly what to expect.
if one chick hatches and moves another egg that has already pipped, whats the outcome? is the other pipped egg going to die? i would feel horrible!
also, how long till i can take them all out, iv heard 48 hours is fine? is this true?
all of them are fairly sized and fertile when i crack them open.
they are slightly smaller than regular eggs. is it worth a shot, or should i wait a few more weeks?
they have been laying for about 3 1/2 weeks, but im chompin at the bit to set some! so excited!
i just dont know what to think... this is my firsst hatch and i just want everything to be okay so bad! so i need yalls opinion, is this on dead, infertile, fertile... anything?

i saw somewhere that it said to lay your thermometer on the top of the eggs..
well i did so, and the temperature read at 105!!!
are they all gonna be dead or cooked or something! my incubator is a still air.
any chance..?
What time of the day do most hens lay eggs, morning? night?
also, is there any possibility that my hen will try to lay while roosting? just curious!
thanks for any help!

Since it was winter and cold here, i had a heat lamp on them 24/7. since spring is coming should i turn it off, or leave it on till they begin to lay? will it affect their laying since i will be reducing light?
i have 3 Barred Rocks, 1 Buff Orphinton, and 2 RIRs (: can anyone tell me, on...
why is he doing this?
if it was another rooster i would understand it as a dominance issue, but poor girl.
