    seperating the roo's and hens?

    Earlier this spring I bought 15 chicks (different breeds) at my local TSC. Now they are getting older and it appears I might have 3 or 4 Roo's in the mix. If I'm raising them only for the eggs should I seperate the roo's from the hen's?

    ramps to the nesting boxes

    here's another stupid question from someone new to chicken raising. I'm preparing to build my nesting boxes. how high off of the floor and do the chickens need ramps to walk up to the nests or do they fly up? ( I hear you laughing)
