A few weeks ago I posted some pictures of my BOs and we played the roo/pullet guessing game. Well here are some updated pictures. What do you guys and gals think?
#1 Pullet?
#2 Roo?
#3 Roo?
#4 Pullet?
#5 Pullet?
#6 Roo
#7 Pullet?
#8 Roo? Poor baby has a bloody comb
Sorry about the...
I got a batch of 8 BOs and it's looking like 6 of them are roos. If you would like to take these guys off my hands, I'm asking a 5.00/each rehoming fee.
Talk about bad luck! It's looking like 6 out of my 8 Buff Orpingtons are roos! At 5 weeks old, 2 of them have super tiny yellow combs and no waddles showing, but the other 6 look just like this guy.
Took my 8 BOs outside for a bit of playtime this afternoon. I made a little pin out of some old screens we had laying around, it did the job I stayed out there and had just as much fun watching them as they did playing.

I got 8 little BOs about 3 weeks ago. This is my first time owning chickens, and I cant believe how big they have gotten already!!! I have NO clue how many are guy/gals but just from looking it looks like I might have 3 roos and 5 pullets... I will give it alittle longer and see what happens...

My husband is an engineer (lucky me! comes in handy when building coops!) Anywhoo, I really wanted a square or rectangle runner, bc I think they look better. But he figured that if we made the runner round (or octogon shaped) we can give the the same sq ft by only using half the materials! (hes...
I bought 8 buffs this afternoon and did the whole 'hang upside down and if the curl' thing. 7/8 curled up! Somebody please tell me this is an old wives tale and I dont have 7 roos!!!
I went and picked up 8 buff orpinton chicks this afternoon. No idea what they are as far as sex goes. I held them upside down and 7/8 curled up. Please tell me this is an old wives tale and I don't have 7 roos! please please please
I bought 6 little chicks last week and DH and I have been working on a 4x4 coop, since we live in GA, we're making the runner much bigger bc I doubt they will be spending much time in the coop anyway (right now I have 6, but I'm betting that at least 1 is a roo... which will leave me with 4 or...

I know that chicks peck at the color red... The reason I know this? Because I have a full sleeve tattoo and I have one little chick who diligently pecks my arm everytime I hold him/her or even if I have my hand in the brooder.
Is there a way I can correct this unwanted behavior? Or am I going...
This is my first time ever having chickens. Right now they are only a week old and still in their brooder. DH and I are working on the coop a little every night.
I'm trying to decide if I want to hang the food and water inside their coop or in their runner underneath the coop. (the coop is 2...
The past few days I have been trying to find out my little chicks likes and dislikes as far as treats go. I know what's safe to give them, so I have been going by that list. So far, we have tried hard boiled egg mashed up, uncooked oatmeal, sunflower seeds, and apples (all of this chopped super...
The above pictures are the 2 I got from the tin marked 'assorted bantams' The little gray one has 4 toes, but looks like he/she is starting to feather on it's feet (?)
These 4 are from the tim marked 'Pullets'
I would really like some help trying to figure out what they are
I gave my little chicks some hard boiled egg as a treat for the first time today. After eating a bit, every one of them started rubbing their faces on the bottom of their brooder. Sort of thrashing their heads side to side. As a first time chicken mommy, I have no clue what they're doing....
