taming goslings - have I missed my chance?

I have several 4-wk-old goslings. Got them from Ideal and had them inside for a VERY short while , then moved them to brood in the barn. While they were in, I was sick and unable to handle them much. Now I spend time around them daily but they are scared of me. So scared they will not even take...

turkey temperament: breeder or hatchery stock?

To those of you who have friendly, non-aggressive turkeys: did you get your stock from a breeder or from a hatchery? Do you think it makes a difference as to temperament? I'm asking b/c I've had to pen mine due to aggression towards my chickens. They were all free-range, so crowding was not the...

turkey hen killed a roo! (graphic pic)

My Penedesenca cockerel had been pestering one of my turkey hens, chasing her around and trying to get her to fight. Well, she finally had enough of it, I guess, and she injured him badly enough to kill him. This morning the back of his head was somewhat bloodied and his comb was, too. The...

    Need help IDing breeds

Any idea what these could be? They all have pink or yellow clean legs (can't really tell which color, yet). The White one and the dark one have single combs. The little brown one has a pea comb (or ? something else. It's just flat right now and definitely not a single.) TIA!

    feeding geese creep feed?

I bought a pair of adolescent Pilgrim geese this a.m. The man I got them from has raised Pilgrims for many years - he had about 100 of them! They were a sight to see! Anyway, he feeds them creep feed, which is for calves, because "it's cheaper." They get it in the morning, then are let out to...

    Would like opinions on breeds

I am strongly considering adding geese to our hobby farm. I would love to get Pilgrims but am also interested in Pomeranians. Could someone compare the two for me? Or just comment on either breed? TIA!

    Broken-hearted

Hey all, I'm a new member but have lurked here for quite a while. I love my chickens and are excited to add turkeys too! Had some on order but just found out said order was cancelled because "hens aren't laying." I was expecting them next week! So I'm on the hunt for Bourbon Red poults... BTW...
