I was going to enter my magnificent roo in a show next month, but I have no clue if I can, as I don't believe they are APA recognized. So, is he showable, and will i be able to win anything if i'm so lucky?
I had seven 4 day old silver spangled hamburg chicks and 3 four day old serama chicks in the same brooder. I am now down to 3 and 3. The hamburgs have been mysteriously dropping like flies, one after another. They start to lay down, and when I go to check on them half an hour later, they are on...
Two days ago, one of my bantam cochins went broody on one egg. I guess she was so desperate she would sit on anything!
Anyways, I just went out to collect eggs, and there were THREE broody hens! I guess those girls just want some chicks

Here at the ranch, we feed our birds garlic and onions every other week. It does help with worms and parasites, and their coop smells like a pizzeria!!
