Hello, I am a newbie to your forum. I will most likely not have time to read back through all the past pages.

We bought my DD a trio of Seramas from a local breeder for her to have for fitting and showing. What personable little birds. We had just seen the play (and then she wanted to watch the movie) of 7-Brides for 7-Brothers...so we have Adam, Milly, and Martha. They are all dolls. At the local fair my DD took grand champion fitting and showing with Adam her first year. During a different age group a tiny little girl (very cute) was F/S a huge goose that would not cooperate. The judge finally had had enough, took the goose and handed it off to her dad....turned around to the cage with Adam, took Adam out and handed him to the little girl. Voila...another family who loves and wants a serama. I am so happy with our decision to get our first trio and we are now hooked.

I have not yet joined the official American Serama Breeders Club, but definitely need to...reason why have not? Just keep forgetting to.

I love the big birds and I am getting into orps...but the DD wanted little birds...I am so glad she picked the Seramas...what a sweet breed and perfect for kids and adults alike.

This is DD with Adam at the local county fair. With big purple ribbon they won in fitting and showing.

Bill,
Congrats on your Graduation. It's a wonderful profession to be in. I've been in health care since 1978 and loved every minute.

Ruth! Awesome

I can't imagine they will last long before someone will snatch them up.

Reading this thread is making me tear up... I just lost my favorite chicken, who happened to be a serama. He was the last one to come down with fowlpox, and i thought he was going to pull through, since he was in the final stage, with my other birds out of it entirely. But the rain made it harder on him, i guess. He was gone when i went out to the coop this morning

Whats almost as sad, i can't find any more seramas in northeast florida.

We had 2 chicks at the fair with us that Martha hatched out. We are giving them to two 4-H kids that showed real interest. They are just perfect for them to hold and they are perfect temperment and size for F/S.
