I am raising a bantam cochin indoors as my momma hen attempted to kill it just after hatching now I'm a great believer in natural selection but having just lost my own pregnancy it seemed to me that Polly needed a momma just as much as i needed a baby! and so now 3 weeks on she lives in an old...
I was hoping seeing as they are the same age the one with horns would be male and the one without would be female ... Need to be more patient and wait it out i guess

Hi
my mom has 3 chickens that we picked up from a breeder all three were meant to be girls but i am 100% sure at least one is a roo!
What do you think?
this gorgeous lil fella is a roo in my opinion but I may be wrong!
these I'm not sure of (awful photography sorry)
Lol My year old hens do not roost at all! they sleep in the nest box all snuggled together on the floor (covered in poultry bedding) maybe mine are just weird though!
Cochins will sit really well on eggs they are the perfect Broodies! they certainly look like a cute couple i'd say go for it unless you notice any ill health or abnormalities as they grow

Bantams! they look almost exactly like my two if they are the same age then yeah one is probably a cock but if theres a chance there could be a few weeks age gap then you may have two girls, I thought for ages that I had a boy because of larger comb n wattles but a year down the line and they...

Hi my Cochin hatched a set of eggs 2 weeks ago and loves her buff chicks but attacked the one black chick that hatched so I have her indoors with me, It's really odd isn't it! Wish I knew whether it was down to her being suprised by one odd chick?
