Hello everyone! I am looking into setting up a few breeding pens as we ad more breeds to our flock. For those of you who have breeding pens would you be willing to share some pictures of your setup? Any tips or ideas would be appreciated! :)

My 9 week old keets just started free ranging during the day and they put them self back in the coop at night.

Does anyone here have roll away nesting boxes in their coop? How do you like them and how have they worked for you? Worth the extra money? Thanks in advance!

We get free ones from people now. They work perfectly fine. I just want pretty ones we can stamp and reuse. I like the color of yours, but 59.99 for 125 of them would come out to 48 cents each.

Hello! For those of you who sell eggs, where do you get your egg cartons? The cheapest I've been able to find is around 30¢ each and I'm just wondering if I can do any better than that. I would like to get flat top paper cartons, but we could also do egg view paper cartons if they were cheaper...

No. Blonde is a partially pealred color (squiggly lines on head with white chest and wings) and this Keet will be fully pearled (straight lines on head).

In this photo it looks like a buff dundotte to me. I see more of a tan rather than the bluish you see in lavender.

I always leave mine in at least 24 hrs. Longer if they need it.

I use pine straw or hay. Works well and isn't slippery.

I have Pearls too. My wattles tend to stay about the same. Now the markings on them will be different for each bird, but the shape will tend to be the same. Here is picture of one of my Pearl males. This Pearl and the Buff Dundotte in the picture above are from the same batch, and so are a few...
