Black and white is an anconna, striped one is an americaunna,Blonde one is a buff minorca, blue one is blue andulisan. I got the same orrder several years back!
I know this is 2007 and we are all smart on all the things that are bad for us,but lets not forget that Chickens have been around a long time, I was a grown man before I ever knew about "layer feeds" we fed out ckickens corn chops and or scdratch garin and let them run free and boy did they ever...
They are a great beginner phesant. Thay are no as wild and flighty as ringnecks. They will become quite tame. I always gave mine some shelter. The coop you just made would be great, but they really don't need the enclosed nesting area. By the way I love you mural. Would love to have that kind of...
Does anyone clip the wing feathers of their chicks after they are a few weeks old. Mine seem to do better if they don't have to drag those heavy wings around. They grow back out and arre soon moulted anyway. But it does seem to help the chicks.
Lots of times a hen will continue to set. Just be sure not to leave the chicks any longer than to dry off. before last egg hatches start replacing chicks with new eggs. I've had hens do this for up to three times before I finally made them quit!
I had some when we lived in the country. DW made me get rid of them because they liked to sit on the carport. If you can keep them out of the yard they are a lot of fun to mess with. I really liked the crosses, but not the chinnese. Go for it they will be sure to keep you entertained.
I would say maybe runner ducks. They aren't real bad to sit around and quack, they like water but can get by drinking out of a container. and lay fairly well seasonally, and are fun and funny!
I didn't like the way westmoreland feed store took care of their chicks. Ruebens uaually has nice ones and usually have some esaster eggers.Only problem I have is a hawk. You can keep a pair or trio of bantams in a small coop. usaully a good way to decide if you like messing with them.Glad to...

Hey welcome neighbor. I'm in Portland tn also! They have an auction at Franklin KY everyother sat night(this weekend) you can get some pretty good birds there. Also at the swap south of Leabon on Hwy 31 on every weekend. I'm from Okla. and find the climate here a little humid for the birds but...
Had a hawk dive at my bantams today, apparently it couldn't see the wire! Bounced right off and set on the ground befuddled for a monent. Scared the bantams real good though. Now I have to figure out how to get the hawk(houses to close to shoot at it.(
