Hey thanks! That answers alot of my questions! Just some more.. I want my hen to take care of her eggs for at least the first few chicks. I have always liked to watch how they raise them. The reason why I want them to do that for the first few chicks is because I dont have enough room for much...
Its a Bantam Hen (Is that what you mean?) I think I will leave 1 in there and see what happens. I would think all Hens would take care of their eggs but Im new to this so I dont know much
Ok well I only have 1 Hen and it didnt really do anything when I took the egg (It wasnt by it at the time) so does that mean either the hen can hatch it or I can? So I can leave it (egg) in there and the hen will hatch it...
Lol Im new so ya a Bantam Hen. We only got 2 because we were getting them as pets and now as they got older 1 turned out to be a rooster and the other a hen. The sales people (CAL-RANCH) told us they were both Bantams but im thinking the rooster is not.
Ok I am new and just went out and got the first egg. I have always wondering... What needs to be done to be able to get baby chicks? Do I just let the chicken do it all? Also does the roaster peck at the eggs? Please tell me everything I need to know to get a chick from the egg.
Thanks!
