    Eye discharge, sneezing, losing feathers

Im still fairly new to chickens. I have 8 at the moment. My leghorn started losing her feathers about a week ago and I assumed she was molting (inconvenient as that would be right now since Im in upstate ny and its been brutally cold). I've noticed for the past few days that she has some sort...

    Mixing Flocks....Food Question

Hi. I'm relatively new to this.....I have 6, 8 week old chicks who have been out ranging with my laying flock of 6. (4 of the babies appear to be roosters but that may be beside the point). The babies are sleeping and eating in a dog crate inside the layers' coop and have been for weeks now...

She's not progressing much, and I thought she was better yesterday than today. Her comb is purple on the top and seems to be slumping over. She just sits there. Shell...

Hi. My dog went after my flock this weekend. I have 7 and 6 are fine now, but one of them appears to be in shock. This morning she seemed to be coming around....I've been making her mash with oatmeal and shredded apples and some other things. She ate a bit yesterday morning and more this...

    Foot caught in door

My chicken got her foot shut in the door of the coop today. Her one "toe" is red like there's blood under the skin at the end where the nail is. She's walking and seems ok now, but I'm concerned. Is there something. Should do for her? Thanks!

    Chickens Eating Too Much Feed?

I have had 7 chickens for about a month, they're all active layers, about a year old. I'm getting 6-7 eggs a day. They free range, having access to acres of property, yet much of the time I find them in their coop eating the commercial feed. Am I doing something wrong? I thought they'd be...
