Hello I'm debating where to move in NW Indiana! I currently live in Hammond! If anyone knows anything about Gary, merrillville, Hammond, or anywhere in the NWI area please message me and let me know!
I was wondering how long in the year I can order baby chicks, because i'm getting my house in July and I cant order till I get it. Also is the shipping super expensive? I don't need an exact price because it may be against forum rules. Let me know guys!
I am kinda going through the Math thing also and how many I want to get and how I wanna plan this out for cost issues. I think I wanna do around 12 chickens, not too sure if I want to do regular sized or Bantams. I wanna do EE's and RIR... weather they are bantams or Regular sized im not sure...
I understand fully, but I may try it out and get a few but order main bunch from a hatchery... Gives me a reason to buy some extra and I don't think I could get fiancé out of there without any... What would you suggest as far as brooders? Galvanized steel tub and a red heat lamp?
Should I get mine from Tsc or a hatchery? The reason I ask is Tsc has one of the breeds I want I'm going to have a flock of 18 including white leghorns (at Tsc), bantam RIR, and bantam Easter egger. Only reason I question it is because I don't want many males if any at all, so I dunno if I...
Does Anyone Have any Info on auctioning off birds in Lowell? if so please message me! I need to know what time to be there and the cost if any to sell, and what requirements are!
I have posted on here without doing my intro so I thought I would now... Hello I am Bobby I live in Hammond for now till next year then I am moving into Merrilville and I will be getting chickens, Cause I am helping a member of my Fiance's Family with his Yard and Chicken Tending. And I fell in...
I know there not vending machines but I was wondering what the difference was, I wanna give anything extra to homeless shelters and soup kitchens... I wanna do this for fun! I also wanna breed chickens... being 26 and already disabled sucks, so I want something to do with myself! ha.... Thanks...
I am going to have chickens next year and I was wondering about the difference in laying production, between low, medium and high layers... I want more high layer breeds, im disabled and I want something to do besides gardening, and my fiance's uncle, his father has chickens and I help with yard...
I am reading about Raising Chickens and getting the eggs and stuff of that sort. I am moving out to Merrillville next year, Where is a good place in NW Indiana to get fertile eggs or chicks from a hatchery, and what incubator does everyone suggest getting?
I live in Hammond, I know they are not permitted here, but I know as far as merillville they are allowed.... just depends on the town too, look into it through city hall and ask them! Or call an Animal shelter!
