I am going thru the same problem, this morning I had one with the yolk sac hanging down. I seperated him for a few hours in the incubator inside of a tupperware bowl with a wash cloth in it. He was still very lively when I checked on him so my daughter and I did a little surgery. I doubled up...

And my temp has kinda been all over the place, didn't know what to expect being a first timer. Edit...Daughter just noticed number 4 pipped!

Nope, regular BR's...but they come from good stock. As you see in my pics the roo is huge and healthy for a 7 month old and all the ladies (14) started laying at 5 months and 13-14 eggs per day...thay r super chickens I guess.

Well.....I just candled the eggs at day 10 and got rid of 3 out of 18, not fertilized. But boy was I egg-cited when I saw 2 of the lightest colored eggs having the dark eye spot and strong movement....YAY ME! The rest are too dark shelled to see more than a bit of vein , big dark blob and the...

They are such an awesome breed. I get between 12 and 14 eggs a day from my 14 pullets, started laying at 5 months, at least a double yolker a day, very personable and so funny to watch......whats not to love except their dizzying pattern

They are actually that red, they are fed an extremely healthy diet, free range, very well maintained coop and a good mommy
