How to prepare young children for witnessing of butchering?

I wonder if there are any good resources to use with children - like books, videos, on-line stuff, etc. We want to offer these to the parents of children in our neighborhood... in case they would want their kids to be there at the scene or to at least have the choice. Thanks!

Out of the mouths of babes...

Do you know of any books or on-line stuff about butchering chickens - that will prepare your children to see or at least accept it?

I am in a cohousing community. We have adopted only 4 chickens (layers) just to find out what it's like for us. They are Rhode Island Reds. They have a "house" and a long out door walkway that we move around to give them new land to feed on. So far (about a month), so good.
