I think what I am trying to figure out is do blue copper marans come from two blue copper marans parents or do they come from a black copper marans and another color marans?Sorry if I worded this wrong.
I am also less than a hour from Mr.Jesse.I really enjoyed going out seeing his birds and those eggs!!!!!! Meeting his family was also alsome. Now if someone with Wheaten marans live so close I would be set.
Ok here goes
Brahma's (all three colors) 17 hens and three roo's
Easter eggers 9 hens and 1 roo
Buff orphingtons 8 hens and a roo
Patridge rocks 5 hens and a roo
Salmone Favorolles 7 hens and a roo
Cockoo Marans 6 hens and 2 roo's
Wellie's 3 hens and three roo's (anybody need a roo?)
and...
I will throw in my 2 cents worth.I bought my BCM from Black Copper King.I actually picked up my chicks and I think he has some really great looking Marans.Non of his hens that I saw had any white in them. The eggs were very dark.He had well over a 100 in his incubator and not one was anywhere...
I have three leghorn's that are just now starting to lay.I think one is eating the eggs.I find a eggs every couple of days and today I found a egg and noticed it had three small holes in it and it was leaking.Any advise?
OK I know Brahma's are very slow to mature so how old should I expect mine to be before they start to lay?I have 2 light brahma girls that are 5 month's old.
I am new to Guineas and have heard that you can not sex them.Is it true the only way to tell is if they lay eggs they are females? Are the males and females really that much a like?
OK tell me what I am doing wrong.I am new to this incubating but am getting addicted fast.I had 12 eggs .2 hatched great and the other 10 did not but they were fully formed.
