When you said "Campine, Dominique, Egyptian Fayoumi, Hamburg, Leghorn and more" above, can you please expand the "more" for us/me as we are looking for self-sufficiency (you don't need to feed them) birds for meat, eggs and incubation purposes.

We have 8 Rockies but have found that they are quite slow growing. Has anyone else found this?
They are about 15 weeks old and are about to be overtaken in size by out 11 week old Australorps and Rhode Island Reds, except for 1 of he girl rcokies who is a decent size....

We have 22 week old Australorp Hen/Pullet. When we let them out today for some free ranging she seemed fine at firt but shorly after my wife found her sitting down with at one of her legs out to the side. She got up when approached but did the same thing again in a couple of minutes...
Thanks, the wife is stressing that the dark ones are bigger than the light ones and she is keen to get a decent rooster out of the batch. Might upload some better photos of all 8 tommorow in a new thread and see that everyone thinks.
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but is this generally the rule, that the boys are lighter and the girls are darker?
Would that make left a girl and right a boy?
