Goober passed a little while ago. I guess she was too far gone.. My heart is broken beyond words.. I can't believe I wasn't able to save her this time... She was always my little problem child with the biggest personality...
She does not have heat exhaustion. That I know. I would say its something else all together, and no not egg bound, she has always been a problem layer and I know how she acts with that.. Ty for the advice though
My goober is just not good and i dont know what she has. Her crop is empty mouth a little slimmy but not bad... I forced fed some water with acv but she is just laying there head down.. I have no clue what more to do...
About 2 months ago my little girl Meepers started acting strange, a little lethargic,, sitting a lot, not being her normal matriarch self. I decided to come on here and do some research,, she wasn't hunching her back or doing the penguin walk but I figured since she hasn't laid an egg in months...
Well looks like he has the horns for his crest like everyone talks about. He is such a flighty strange character. the other little roos pick on him. I am hoping once they get outside for good they can confirm their place in the flock and just chill.
The other 2 are crowing. And all 3 have spurs breaking through as I checked this evening. I only got 3 babies this year and all 3 turn out to be boys.maybe I should play the Lottery???
Sooo It never occurred to me at this young age maybe I should check the spurs area to confirm. And low and behold all 3 have little nubs growing :-( All 3 are boys....
There are no signs of any red or a wattle at all. the other 2 have big ones as you can see. but the polish I think taker longer. the other 2 pick on him/her so i am thinking he might be a roo just very mellow? and there is no aggression from him to the other 2

Ok, this is my second group of babies. I only have 3. All are within 2-3 weeks old. 2 are Serama chicks and one is a polish. They were fine for 2 days then I noticed within 1 hour the smallest of the 3 started brutally pecking the Polish till she was all bald and bleeding on her neck. I quickly...
All 4 of my chickens come when I have some treats in hand, I call their name and they know to jump up to grab their treat. each one knows their name and knows its time to jump up when I call it. They are the smartest little things.
I live in Mesa AZ where the temps this week have been 115-120. My girls have been major troupers in this hellish environment. This is the hottest they have ever experienced and they are even laying eggs through this whole mess.
I have their entire pen area covered for shade and a box fan blowing...
Ok, So I have two 9 month old girls and then I got 3 other chicks that are now 7 months old. One of those turned out to be a rooster. I am moving in the next month and was not able to keep the rooster. Not to mention he was starting to pull the feathers out of my big girls heads trying to mount...
