WILL MY SERVICE ROOSTER SPREAD DISEASES?

Melvin is gorgeous!! I love him I agree that the person's tone was rude in their letter. I would have been offended by it. Chickens are beautiful, clean creatures and are more hygienic than dogs, and indeed most people too!

Help, my hens won't be quiet!

Apart from an egg song or a predator squawk, my girls are quiet all the time! I have brown hybrid layers. If it's a very noisy 'bawk bawk bawk bawk bu-CLUCK bawk bawk bawk' type of noise they may be feeling threatened by your cat. My chickens chase cats lol! And they make no secret of the fact...

    Lame chicken

One of my hens went suddenly lame about 5 days ago, on her left leg. She can lift the leg to scratch her wattles, but cannot wear bear on it. I can see no obvious injury or swelling, and it is not involving the foot pad in any way so definitely not bumblefoot. She is very very lame and is...

    4 legged chick

I vote to keep the little angel alive while she/he is happy, eating and socialising well sometimes nature deals us special individuals, and I think to cull a chick that is otherwise healthy and just odd looking would be wrong. I hope your special chick grows up healthy, strong and unique!
