4 legged chick

Same. If it is healthy, but just has extra legs, why cull?
Well then, you must not think anything about a deformed child is cute then either. I, for one, think the chick is adorable, and if you can save him/her and they will have a good life then keep him/her.

I think it is wonderful to see this little one standing on its own. Only time will tell though. It all depends on the genetic mutation or defect.

It seems that it could be the conjoined twin thing that happened, or it is a genetic mutation for extra appendages (DNA sequencing and what not). Only way to tell is to see inside by cat scan or MRI or genetic blood tests).

If it just has extra legs, then it will probably live out a long life and what not. If it is an unabsorbed twin or whatever, there may be complications further on since when it grows, the twin can grow. Also if the heart and and everything is also connected to the twin then that can cause weakness and all that.

IT is cool that it is ohkay from what you can tell, but it might/will freak certan types of people out.

I vote to keep the little angel alive while she/he is happy, eating and socialising well

sometimes nature deals us special individuals, and I think to cull a chick that is otherwise healthy and just odd looking would be wrong. I hope your special chick grows up healthy, strong and unique!

remove the belly leg by ting something around it very tightly until it becomes dead then use aknife and cut off the leg it wnt feel a thing

I think maybe people have different opinions on this and that is OK. The chick is not suffering as far as we can tell.

Yes this chick is deformed, but whatever opinion you may have - please remember to be civil. Please respect others opinions as well as the OP. They are the one making decisions for their flock, not yours.

I will put my opinion in here too. I think it's really cute, I would think it was cute full grown as long as it did not have any health issues (or they were treated if it did). The likely hood that it won't is slim, but still possible. I would not let this chick in the breeding pool at all and would consider pulling the hen who laid it if I knew who. This is definitely not a desired trait.

I do agree this was probably a 1/2 absorbed double yolk egg. It's very interesting that it hatched, as they typically don't.
