My broody hen won't get off the nest at all and poops in it, she eats her feathers so I found lifting her each day and shutting her out the nest for 15mins stopped this and we had 8 chicks hatch out of 10. My question is she's gone broody at the end of Autumn is it alright to let her hatch or...

I think the one on the right too because of the thicker legs, but at 3 wks quite early to tell

Hens now although one has stopped laying think she's peeved with me for clipping her wing.

I bought a dozen fertilised eggs mixed lge breeds from a breeder of heritage chooks, and placed them under my broody hen. Eight hatched and we ended up with 2 barnevelder hens and 2 rhode island red hens the other four were roo's.

Looks like a barred rock to me too, just like the little one I had

Hi Guys can you help with pullet or roo, the barnevelders are 12wks. the two rhode island reds are pullets. Not sure on Eva at back and hetty in front but thinking pullets. Cheers Fee
