Here's my grandma! She's become my favorite along with my little partridge rock, so calm and friendly!
One day old
Today, almost 10 weeks! Crazy the color change! Love her blue head and blue muffs, and she's pure white under her wings!
So crazy! Here is my grandma today! They looked exactly the same as chicks!
My polish
The Partridge Rock, friendliest of the bunch, and her preferred resting spot if I'm anywhere near.
And on a sad note, I'm 99% sure my lone Iowa Blue is a Roo.
I really wonder if it has to do with nearly dying during shipping....
The funniest thing is that she seems to be best friends with the EE, who was so mean to her in the beginning. She rarely leaves her side. You can see how small she is in comparison to the other chicks!
It's nuts! I keep saying... She HAS to start growing sometime.... Right? It's just crazy the size difference between the two! Well I'm glad to know it's not just her though, I was starting to get worried!
Yeah that EE is the same one that looked the same as yours! I can't believe how much...

How are your polish growing? As you know I only got two, first she picked out a medium and small one but I had her put the small one back and grab one of the bigger ones. The big one is growing like a weed, and is TWICE the size of the small one! It's bothering me because now the small...
Just had to share a pic of my silly little polish. They like to climb on top of the other big chicks and fall asleep that way. The one spreads her little wings out and 'hugs' the others.
I'm lazy and just put it in a couple of lids and throw it in there with them. They do walk all over it, and the polish seem to fall into it a lot, but when they are all done, everyone is pretty clean. They eat it fast! And then eat all the little bits off of the other chicks.
My polish had pasty bums too. (All of them at Kiowa did) I put them on fermented feed right away and only had a day of pasty! I had just switched the bigs and littles over to fermented feed last week just before I got the Polish, so perfect timing! It's amazing how much the fermented feed...
It's crazy how small the polish chicks are compared to the rest. Mine are hilarious. They walk around on their little tiptoes all stretched out so they are as tall as possible. I'm afraid they are going to injure themselves acting like that! They keep falling over! It's so funny to watch.
Your...
My polish are pretty small too. Probably super stressed from extra day/days in shipping the whole weekend! I'm surprised so many made it alive as it was. Good news is they are close to a week old, so fingers crossed if they made it this far they keep going! One of mine is doing really good...
They have a lot left from last week! I was tempted to get another partridge rock as the one I got from that batch is just the sweetest little thing. But I resisted. My husband still hasn't said anything, but now I think I'll have to tell him because I need to make sure they are checked for pasty...
Well they are getting food and water just fine. It's when they try to hang out in the 'chick corner' quite frankly, if I was another chick I'd peck them too! They keep crawling all over the sleeping chicks and rousing them and pecking at their beaks... They are kinda asking for it. :/
I'm in the...
So I have ten 13-14 day old chicks, and just got 2 buff laced polish that are 5 days old to add to them. Seemed to go well for an hour or so, except now one EE is pecking at them quite often. The rest of the chicks pay them no mind. I thought there wouldn't be much of a problem since they are so...
Yes, have 2 super cute buff polish now. Only because 21hens had to tell me they arrived early... And only because I didn't get called out to work this morning.... And only because it is completely reasonable to drive 50min each way to pick up 2 blasted chicks!!!
Curse you all! Now I have to hope my hubby doesn't notice the two new tiny puffballs running around with the other chicks.
On a side note, regarding integration, I have nine 2 week olds and one 3 week old. The only ones that showed any problems were the 2 week old EE and Iowa blue. A bit of...
Oh boy. The buff laced ones are so pretty. Haha, we are only adding 6 chickens to our flock... And I already have 10 chicks! Arrgh! Hmmmmmmm... so tempted to drive down in the morning... It takes an hourish to get to the Kiowa feed store from my house. It would make them kinda pricy if I factor...
Are you getting yours from Kiowa? I know they were supposed to get buff Polish later this week. I'd be bummed as I was just out that way yesterday looking at some property!!! I totally would have grabbed a couple! Too far to drive out there for just 2 chicks though. :(
I don't even care what...
